This month, the ASPCA is holding the Adopt-A-Shelter Dog photo contest to promote the adoption of dogs.
Capture a photo of your pooch showing some affection for a pet of a different species and you just might win the grand prize. The deadline is October 31.

One of the Internet’s pre-eminent meta search engines, Dogpile.com has started a campaign to donate revenue generated through their web search to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. They are attempting to reach a total of $1 million for pet rescue by 2009.
