cat-peeking-through-treeWith the season neigh upon us, it’s about time to turn out eyes towards the evergreen trees, egg nog, and holiday greetings from relatives. Also, strange fun by the fireplace with our pets and loved ones.

To help start celebrating this early, we figured that a few links to places that have galleries of cats at Christmas would be a good start.

About.com has a nice assorted gallery of cat pictures. Cats with Santa, cats and mistletoe (do not eat!), cats lurking in Christmas trees, cats opening presents! All the things that a delighted cat owner might want to get in on. For smiles and cheer, and whiskers, certainly.

If the above moggies weren’t enough for all of us there’s also this lovely little gallery. Two pages of cats batting at tensil, sniffing Christmas lights, and otherwise loving it up.

One can never have enough lolz at Yuletide!

    Awwww! This is TOO cute!

  3. ice-queen says:

Why buy gifts that your family and friends are going to re-gift?

Give the money to make these cats comfy while they wait for a loving home.

There is a reason the Egyptians worshipped them.

    • Apocalyptica says:

The Ancient Egyptians worshipped these creatures because they were dumb. Now if you wish to be dumb like the Egyptians, be my guest.

As for the Comfy Home argument, cats are almost impossible to domesticate. Just leave them live in their own environment for which they’ve been built. Confining them to your house in order for you to “Give them love” is dumber than the Egyptian argument.

      • Kyt Dotson says:

I fear that you missed ice-queen’s point on her comment about comfy homes. While I am sure that the confines that the shelters give cats while they wait for adoption are certainly not inhumane, they are usually Spartan and lacking of social contact.

You seem to want to weigh in on the inside-cat/outdoor-cat debate…but that’s not really what this post was about. If you like, I could write an article on the subject and try to frame commentary from both sides if you’d like to add your 2¢ to that.

        Let us know.
