My cousin has a son with asthma, and he cannot be around "mutts", so she got him a full blood maltese, and they have not had any problems. Many rescues have full blood breeds, some may have been rescued from puppy mills or given up by breeders going out of business. The poodle and Bichon Frise are known to be hypoallergenic. Also, another great choice for them, in my opinion, would be a miniature schnauzer, as they are known to be hypoallergenic, they like children, and are very loyal family dogs.
